Call for Survey Practice Editors

AAPOR’s online journal, Survey Practice, is looking to expand its editorial board.

The mission of Survey Practice is to provide current information on issues in survey research and public opinion that is useful to survey and public opinion practitioners, new survey researchers, and those interested in survey and polling methods.

Survey Practice is an editor-reviewed journal (not peer-reviewed).  As such, each associate editor is responsible for the following:
  • Complete one initial review per month.  Reviews should include a summary of the article (1-2 sentences), a list of comments (strengths and weaknesses), and a publication recommendation.
  • Re-review resubmitted articles for which you were the original reviewer.  Re-reviews occur on a flow basis as they are received from authors.
  • Participate in discussions with other editors on the direction of Survey Practice and potential improvements.
  • Generate ideas (and help recruit/write) for “Interview the Expert”.

Associate editors are volunteers, unpaid, and are appointed to a two year term.

Who should apply?  Anyone with strong critical thinking skills, ability to provide constructive criticism, and the desire to become more involved in AAPOR.  As part of Survey Practice’s goal to reach all types of survey researchers and pollsters and in line with AAPOR’s mission to promote diversity, we are looking to bring on individuals with all types of backgrounds and research interests.  So, don’t hesitate to apply!
