Terms of Agreement

By participating as a presenter or audience member in this digital environment, you agree to be recorded.
 
Your participation in AAPOR virtual sessions indicates consent to the following terms regarding aspects of the virtual sessions: 
 
AAPOR session organizers may record the presentations by video and audio. Any recordings may be be made available for 90 days after the conference. 
 
Presenters must have rights to the content in their presentation and thus give AAPOR copyright permission to promote the materials and/or recording to AAPOR websites and to AAPOR accounts on third-party websites (including but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn). Presenters retain all ownership rights, including copyright, patents, trademarks, and other intellectual property of content uploaded to these sites. 
 
Presenters have no right of approval, no claim for compensation, and no claim (including, without limitation, claims based upon invasion of privacy, defamation, or right of publicity) arising out of or in connection with, any use, alteration, or use in any composite form. Presenters agree and acknowledge that in the event any claims of action arise with respect to their materials or any other actions related to participation in the conference, they act in sole and individual capacity and that AAPOR does not assume liability for presenters and audience member actions hereunder. See AAPOR’s event conduct policy.
 
Interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, or any other purpose by AAPOR and its affiliates and representatives. You release AAPOR, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or or sound recordings.
 
You waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any exhibition, streaming, web casting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such exhibiting, broadcasting, web casting, or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by AAPOR or the person or entity designated to do so by AAPOR. You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before entering the event.

Notice to Federal Employees

The Annual AAPOR Conference conforms to the OPM definition of a “developmental assignment.” It is intended for educational purposes; over three quarters of time schedule is for planned, organized exchange of information between presenters and audience, thereby qualifying under section 4101 of title 5, United States Code as a training activity. The AAPOR Conference is a collaboration in the scientific community, whose objectives are to provide a training opportunity to attendees; teach the latest methodology and approaches to survey research best practices; make each attendee a better survey researcher, and; maintain and improve professional survey competency.
