Social Media
The American Association of Public Opinion Research now has a presence on several social media sites. Here's information on how to connect to the association and other AAPOR members on those sites, and some user tips:
- Facebook - become a "fan" of the AAPOR Page, upload photos/videos, participate in discussions with current and prospective AAPOR members
- Twitter - send short messages (up to 140 characters) to others interested in AAPOR and survey research. Read tips on sharing highlights (research and social) of the annual conference. (2009 conference hashtag: #aapor2009)
- LinkedIn - join the AAPOR Group on LinkedIn, connect with other survey research professionals, see job postings, participate in discussions
- YouTube - see and comment on videos uploaded by AAPOR and friends of the association
Of course online networking is nothing new to AAPOR -- the email discussion listserv AAPORnet was founded in November 1994 and throughout its existence has been a place for vigorous discussion of survey research issues. AAPORnet is available to AAPOR members only.
