Hotel Information
The Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile Hotel will be
the headquarters for the AAPOR 65th Annual Conference in Chicago. Fresh
from a multi-million dollar transformation, this luxurious hotel boasts

shopping. It is also within walking distance to the Windy City’s
top attractions, including Navy Pier, American Girl Place, Shedd
Aquarium, Millennium Park and the theater and museum districts.
Hotel Rates and Reservations
AAPOR has negotiated a discounted rate of $245 U.S. for single or double
occupancy plus applicable taxes. Additional person is $20 U.S. These
rates will be available to attendees based on availability from Monday,
May 10, through Tuesday, May 18, 2010. To reserve a room, call

Reservations must be made no later than Wednesday, April 21, 2010. After this date, discounted rates may not apply.
A limited number of government per-diem rooms are available during the conference. A valid federal or state government ID is required at check-in to obtain this rate. A credit card guarantee is required to hold your reservation. The hotel will charge the equivalent of one night’s room and tax if cancellation notice is not provided to the hotel 72 hours prior to the day of arrival. Hotel check-in is 4:00 p.m., and check-out is Noon.

Airport Transportation Information
The Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile Hotel is
located approximately 55 minutes by car from the O’Hare
International Airport and 40 minutes from Midway Airport. Taxi fare is
approximately $40 and $30 each way, respectively.
Shuttle Service
From O’Hare International Airport:
Go Airport Express Shuttle departs the O’Hare
International Airport every 15 minutes, between the hours of 5:30 a.m.
and 11:30 p.m., for downtown service to Chicago hotels. Ticket counters
and loading zones for boarding the Go Airport Express Shuttle are at
Door 1E, Door 2D, and Door 3F across from baggage claim on the Baggage
Claim level. At the international terminal, the counter is located
outside Door 5E which is outside of baggage claim and customs. The fare
to and from the hotel is $28 one-way or $50 round-trip (fares subject to
change). Round-trip tickets can be purchased at the shuttle counter.
From Midway Airport:
Go Airport Express Shuttle departs the Midway Airport every 15
minutes, between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m., for downtown
service to Chicago hotels. Ticket counter and loading zone is located at
Door 3, lower level across from baggage claim. The fare to and from the
hotel is $23 one-way or $40 round-trip (fares subject to change).
Round-trip tickets can be purchased at the shuttle counter.

From
O’Hare International Airport:
Take I-190 East into I-90 (Kennedy Expressway) East to the
Ohio Street Exit (50B). Ohio Street is a one-way street eastbound. Take
Ohio Street to Rush Street. Turn right on Rush for hotel entrance.
From
Midway Airport:
Take Cicero Avenue north to I-55 North into I 90/94 West,
(signs say To Wisconsin). Take Ohio St Exit (50B), Ohio Street is a one
way street eastbound. Turn right on Rush for hotel entrance.
Public Transportation to Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile Hotel
From O'Hare International Airport
Bard the Rapid Transit train (Blue Line) to the Jackson
Street stop. Go downstairs, through the tunnel toward State Street, then
back up the stairs. Board the northbound Howard Line (Red Line) and exit
at Grand and State. Exit subway, walk 2 blocks east to the hotel. Fare
is $2.25.
From Midway Airport
From baggage claim, follow signs to Rapid Transit train.
Take the Rapid Transit train (Orange Line) to the Roosevelt Road stop.
Change to the northbound Howard Line Train (Red Line) and exit at Grand
and State. Exit subway, walk 2 blocks east to the hotel. Fare is
$2.25.

Parking
Valet parking at Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile
Hotel is currently $48, per day and off-site self parking is $33, per
day (subject to change). Daily fee for hotel guest only includes in/out
privileges.
Foreign Visas
Travelers attending the meeting from qualified countries to the United
States for tourism or business for 90 days or less may be eligible to
visit the United States without a visa. Currently, 27 countries
participate in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). Visitors entering on the
VWP may not work or study while in the United States and may not stay
longer than 90 days or change their status to another category. Visitors
entering on the VWP must have machine-readable passports. Travelers
without machine-readable passports will need to apply for a visa to

Weather
Chicago’s average high temperature in May is 69°
Fahrenheit (20° Celsius), with an average low temperature of
49° Fahrenheit (9° Celsius). Attire for the conference is
business casual. Because meeting room temperatures sometimes fluctuate,
attendees may wish to bring a sweater or jacket.
