AGT Abstract & Presentation Guidelines and Judging Criteria

Abstract Guidelines

  • 500 word maximum
  • Please include why you chose the challenge topic
  • Describe your approach and provide an outline of how you would do the research (remember you do not have to actually do the research)
  • Indicate how your research design will address said issue
  • Discuss the impact of the proposed research on survey research in general
Presentation Guidelines
  • 13 -14 minutes to present, leaving 3-4 minutes for questions
  • Include your team name, members & affiliations
  • State your selected challenge
  • Outline of your presentation
  • Implementation Strategy Slide(s) - show us your approach is feasible, doable and functional (remember you do not have to actually do the research)
  • Show how your research addresses the topic selected
  • Show the impact of the proposed research on survey research in general
  • Discuss the Caveats/Limitations/Restrictions
Judging Criteria
Judging Criteria on scale 1-10 for each of the following:
  1. Fit of Topic - How well does the proposed research fit the topic?
  2. Scientific Rigor? Quality of research plan?
  3. Impactful? Will the results make a difference?
  4. Feasibility? Can the solution be implemented in a reasonable timeline and budget?
  5. Innovation? Does it solve the research in a new, creative, or never before seen way?
