American Association for Public Opinion Research Elects Leaders in the Public Opinion and Survey Research Industry to 2014-2015 Executive Council

DEERFIELD, IL, April 10, 2014 -- The American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) is pleased to announce its newly elected executive council members who will begin their service at the conclusion of the 69th Annual AAPOR Conference on May 18, 2014 in Anaheim, California.

"AAPOR is the leading association of public opinion and survey research professionals including both producers and consumers of research from a variety of disciplines. Our incoming elected leaders reflect the broad spectrum and interdisciplinary nature of the membership of AAPOR," said AAPOR President Robert L. Santos. “Our slate of newly elected leaders is nothing more than spectacular, including recognized leaders in public policy research, election polling, academia, commercial research and social science research. It just doesn't get any better than this."

AAPOR is governed by a 15-member executive council comprised of current and incoming councilors. The current, incoming and past presidents work closely together and with the executive director to ensure continuity in governance.

The American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the science and practice of survey and opinion research to give people a voice in the decisions that affect their daily lives.

• Educate practitioners on new developments affecting our field;

• Promote best practices in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting survey data;
• Provide opportunities for our members to exchange views and promote the values of our organization; and
• Act as an advocate for survey and opinion research and its practitioners.
