2013-2014 Executive Council Elections

AAPOR is pleased to announce the slate of candidates for the 2014-2015 Executive Council election.

Elections will open March 12, 2014 and will end April 3, 2014. Members without valid email addresses will receive hard copy ballots. Candidates for the 2014 election are listed below in alphabetical order.

Vice President/President-Elect
This is a three-year position: Vice-President/President-Elect (2014-2015), President (2015-2016) and Past President (2016-2017). As required by the bylaws, this office is rotated between the commercial and non-commercial sectors in odd and even years. Candidates for 2014 must be from the non-commercial sector. Non-commercial is defined as academic, government or non-profit organizations.

Associate Secretary-Treasurer 
This position has a term of office of one year at the end of which he or she shall become Secretary-Treasurer. The Associate Chair is responsible for working with the Secretary-Treasurer to monitor AAPOR's financial health. Additionally the Associate is a member of the Financial Oversight, Investment and Development Committees and works with the Conference Committee as Chair of the Subcommittee on Development.

Councilor-at-Large
This is a two-year term, one of two Councilor-at-Large positions that are generally held by senior members of the association. Councilors-at-Large represent the Council on task forces and take on special projects. As required by the bylaws, this office is rotated between the commercial and non-commercial sectors in odd and even years. Candidates for 2014 must be from the commercial sector. Commercial is defined as for-profit businesses or consulting.

Associate Chair Standards Committee
This position has a term of office of one year at the end of which he or she shall become the Chairperson of the committee that promotes the AAPOR Code of Professional Ethics and Practices via the Transparency Initiative and other avenues, and evaluates possible violations of the Code through formal committee procedures. This committee is also active in advocacy and partnering on national policy related to standards issues.

Associate Chair Conference Committee
This position has a term of office of one year at the end of which he or she shall become Chairperson and will chair AAPOR’s 71st Annual Conference in 2016. The Associate Chair serves on the Conference Steering Committee, and works with the Conference Chair and chairs of the Subcommittees on Development and Conference Support. As required by the bylaws, this position is rotated between the commercial and non-commercial sectors in odd and even years. Candidates for 2014 must be from the commercial sector. This position has a term of office of one year at the end of which he or she shall become the Chairperson of the committee that coordinates overall strategy on AAPOR communications and publications including the website, newsletter, Blue Book and related AAPOR activities. This leadership position requires availability on short notice to coordinate timely AAPOR response.
